Le Politburo
25, Rue du Roi-de-Sicile Le Politburo is a great, unpretentious dive-ish bar in the Marais. The crowd skews toward young, queer and queer-friendly, and very laid-back. The place is tiny and has a charming aesthetic that sort of says "on the verge of falling apart," but in a good way! This is not the kind of place you want to order a glass of wine in; stick with beer on tap and simple cocktails. Bonus: Many of the tables in the front room of the bar are made from heat-sensitive plastic that changes color upon contact with your cold glass or warm hands; I have no idea how my friends and I drunkenly discovered that in the relative darkness of the bar. Ooh, and another bonus: check out the big crumbling dragon insignia on the ceiling; this place apparently used to be a Chinese restaurant years ago, ha!
